America has pretty much done nothing positive in the history of Latin America. Nothing. It's all been for realpolitik, i.e., cheap agriculture, cheap drugs, cheap textiles, and cheap labor.

America has deliberately destabilized the entire region to always be able to "negotiate" favorable terms by pitting countries against each other.

If those American backed puppet regimes were so great for their citizens, there would've been no need to overthrow those governments.

Latin Americans have a deep distrust of America based on history. Venezuela is no different.
