My kid (at an Ivy) texted me during orientation to say "who knew cigarettes were still a thing"   She was surprised because kids in HS vaped (a lot) but no one her age really using cigarettes back home. She hasn't mentioned cocaine at all, but I remember it being a rich kid thing when I was in college so I'm sure its still a thing in certain social circles.[/quote]

Same reaction about cigarettes from my DD when we toured colleges recently and she did some overnights. She's been around vaping since middle school, but was really surprised to see cigarettes in the mix. She said (to me), "haven't we established that those are bad for you?!" ; ). I'm sure she'll be desensitized soon, sadly. [/quote]
