When in the US, the person is an American citizen. When in the West Bank, they are Palestinian. Dual citizenship comes with costs as well as benefits. [/quote]

Yes. Dual citizenship is a crock.

Don’t claim to be an American when in your other country. News often fails to report someone is a dual US-something else citizen when something happens to that person in the other country. It is totally misleading. Those people want to have bet out of jail free cards when something goes sideways in the other country. It isn’t fair to American and it isn’t fair to the other country. In that case, Israeli-Americans killed on Oct 7th should also be regarded the same way.

Anyway, there is no such thing as a "get out of jail free card" for Americans (dual or not) in another country, unless they are diplomats. [/quote]
