TO, do Emory, BU, Northeastern, UMichigan, UC Irvine, NYU
With that 3.9 GPA, these schools are safties. Aim higher.
In state, which is easier, almost all Michigan admits have a 3.8 or above. 3.9 is very average. https://www.collegeessayguy.com/blog/how-to-get-into%E2%80%93university-of-michigan A boy interested in Classics might be appealing. Look at the Residential College and Honors College to determine a fit.
This is just categorically wrong. My private school kid got into Michigan OOS TO with a 3.85 from private. Op - please don’t listen to these idiots who don’t know at all what they are talking about. They live in their own public school bubble and don’t realize the world beyond it. Private school kids (full pay) do very well at Michigan, especially this year more than ever. The key is to show meaningful interest and submitting an application early (a few weeks before deadline). I’ve posted my observations in other posts. They don’t want to be the backup.
Is that more about being full pay than anything else?
