Last summer we were at the Halifax airport going back to Boston.  It is a tiny Canadian airport with one flight a day to the northeast of US.   We got there a hour before the flight. We walked into an empty lobby with two workers behind the desk.  There was only one plane going out that morning.  They told us we couldn’t go into the next room which was where you boarded the plane.  They told us we were too late.   We look in the room and there’s about 15 people waiting for the flight.  Why can’t we check in?. They said it was a demand by the US that everyone flying from Canada into the US needed to be there at a certain time before the flight. I forget what the time was.

Anyway they had to go find someone in charge who could make an exception for us. They did let us through with much hostility.  So we checked in and sat and waited.  I think they resented US Home Land Security and their superior attitudes.  [/quote]
