The main thing the flag represents is that the US is a sovereign country.  That means we are allowed to choose what foreigners enter and stay in the country.

The op ed wasn't about the government, it was about Tufts University's response to a student Senate resolution. Period.

Khashoggi wrote columns critical of the Saudi government while he lived in the US. He was not a citizen, he had a green card. Trump certainly favored the Saudi government. Should Khashoggi have been scooped up off the street and deported because he wrote columns critical of a country with which the US has friendly relations?
