^This is the reason. I have a 2021 Model S and have been beta testing for several years since they opened to public beta testing. FSD V12 is terrible, once they went to single stack AI. It's unusable. It cant even maintain speed. Wife has a Y and we paid $10k for FSD and she has never turned it on. I'm a a software engineer and tech exec and I don't believe they are anywhere near close to Level 4 or 5, and not even close on Level 3 autonomy. They are valued as an AI tech stock but they are just a car company on the revenue, capex, and product line. People will expect their cars to self drive in the future. The what will their AI software be worth? If they can even get it to the point regular people trust using it, which is  LONG, LONG way off.  - A guy with over 40,000 FSD miles experiece[/quote]
