I was referring to the comments of wearing more refined slacks and wool coats.  I watched that long street scene video.  The jeans and the sweaters looked no more well-dressed for museums  than OPs athletic wear.  It's all going to be hidden by the puffy coats anyway.  Europe is still cold that time of year.  I saw a lot of jeans and leggings (admittedly mostly worn by women who looked good in them and I hope they are fleece lined).   The few women who looked great looked like they were on their way to work. And about how sales people will react, The good ones would never judge on the casual outfit.
They can read you by how you are reacting to the merchandise and mostly by how comfortable you are in the environment.  It's the confidence that is extruded.   OP - Please feel free to dress the way you are comfortable for the weather and lot's of walking.  After reading this thread, That's what I'll be doing.  If you see another person in Lulu, may be it'll be me![/quote]
