Look there can be exceptions for the parents who were truly exhausting all options to get their kid help and the kid managed to get a gun from outside the home. But let’s be real. 99% of the time it ends up being a parent’s gun and often there were warning signs yet the parents still allowed access to a gun. That is criminally negligent. Even if your kid isn’t mentally ill, all guns should be locked in a biometric safe with ammo stores separately. That is the minimum adults should do. If you have a mentally ill kid in the house then you probably shouldn’t have guns at all. Lock.them.up. And let them get civilly sued for every penny they have worked the save their entire lives.
