Two very different programs.[/quote] Good grief, Medicaid is one program that serves different populations (e.g. kids, childless adults, elderly) through different eligibility pathways. Eligibility standards may vary by the population that is covered but all of it is financed jointly by the states and the federal government. There isn’t a separate pool of money that finances Medicaid long term care — it’s all part of the same mix. The main way Medicaid programs vary is from state to state.
