The kids [b]shouldn't[/b] have gotten out. 
They're absence [b]certainly[/b] should have been [b]noticed[/b], but what do you think these people do all day? Perhaps the staff were busy changing diapers, preparing a meal or a snack, setting up a learning activity, attending to a child that was injured or sick, playing one on one with a child, one staff member may have needed the restroom, or maybe, the staff was busy filling out [b]required paperwork [/b]when the kids got out. And maybe, just maybe, they were attempting to do all of the above at the same time.[/quote]

At my son's daycare, I have seen pee accidents or a boo boo that needs a bandage or ice while on the playground.  If there's only one teacher, she never leaves to tend to the child until another teacher can cover - which usually seems to take only a few minutes.  Yes, these teachers work very hard and have many responsibilities, but there are some procedures for keeping kids safe that must be in place and followed.[/quote]
