WHAT A DIFFERENCE ONE WORD MAKES.
MADAM Vice President. It breaks glass ceilings. It paves the way for a generation of new leaders. It turns “never-been-done” to “did”.

In 2020 we set out to commemorate the inauguration of America’s first female (AND black AND South Asian) Vice President. We collaborated with talented local artist and Alpha Kappa Alpha soror Lex Marie to create a whiskey fit for toasting history: Madam.

Lex says “…as an artist my mind immediately went to the many masterpieces I’ve studied of portraits painted of French women of status titled ‘Portrait of Madame….’  Portraits have long served as a way to show the sitter’s importance, beauty and power and I felt that Vice President Kamala Harris deserved to be represented in that way.” Cheers to that.

Vice President Harris is seated in a salmon pink blazer and pearls as a nod to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc, and surrounded in a frame that is both elegant and feminine.

Madam is a blend of 8 year old bourbon and 6 year old rye. We slow-smith each barrel before bottling to produce what we all strive (and vote, and protest, and organize) for- a more perfect union.

NOSING AND TASTING:

On the nose you pick up notes of pink peppercorn, baking spices like cinnamon and allspice, butterscotch, candied orange peel, and a wisp of smokey depth.

Your first sip carries hints of vanilla and caramel creme followed by dried plum and cereal grains.
