Harris is sane, has a few specific proposals, but spends most time on selling her personality and upbringing, and attacking Trump for being Trumpy, not her performance or plans. She's trying to play it safe, and let Trump lose. But she's not giving much to the people who know Trump is a moron but are voting for party/cabinet not the person. I think that's why she's not winning.
She put out 82 pages of specific economic proposals. It’s not as long a Project 2025 but there’s a lot there, check it out.
I don't care about hopes, dreams and aspirations. I care about the mechanics of HOW it works. What do you damage to give someone else something for free? These are equations. There are two sides to the ledger.
Read and learn. https://kamalaharris.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Policy_Book_Economic-Opportunity.pdf
She wants to democratic local control zoning and allow developer greed to dictate community decisions “This will be a results-driven innovation fund with one core requirement: state and local governments must show that they will deliver results in building rental properties and homes that are affordable.” This is a Trojan horse political issue and suburban voters need to be aware of the plan. HUD will be forcing suburbs to build high density apartments buildings that will cause school overcrowding and decimate local government budgets.
Not dictate, incentivize. There is a difference. If states or counties do not want the federal money, then they don't have to adhere to the guidelines. It is no different than Ronald Reagan tying federal highway funds to the drinking age, and you probably didn't have an issue with a RINO like Reagan doing that, right?
Linking highway funds is to the drinking age laws is legal because it fall under the interstate commerce clause. Overriding local zoning with HUD funding restrictions is illegal in a post-chevron world. This authority was not specifically delegated to the government agencies by congress and it also would be unconstitutional to interfere with local government decisions about land use because there is no reasonably plausible nexus to interstate commerce.
