NBC’s prime time was the worst with this. They seemingly spent half the Tokyo track coverage talking about Allyson Felix’s daughter and the fact that she was a mom. And yeah she also ran some races, or something. But she’s a mom!!! With a KID! Yes it’s impressive and all, but really. The swimming wasn’t much better.

Yes NBC prime time sucks- they also don’t take the time to explain the scoring or moves or whatever.  They off-handedly say things like ‘oh his chest was down that’s .1 deduction’ or some new swimming rule with butterfly or breaststroke got a guy disqualified? Like explain these things to me- so much more interesting than a swimmer’s wife gender reveal after he wins a bronze.  [/quote]
