Also, the Constitution effectively limits voting to citizens.

This bill is redundant, accomplishes nothing new, wasted time and money, and was nothing but performative theater by the Republicans for no good reason other than to feed into their BS narrative that illegal aliens are "replacing" Americans at the polls and everywhere else. And, in some states, the only affirmation that is required is the registrant checks a box.  That's it.  
So, yes - this law is needed.

We have upward of 20 million people in our country illegally.  If only 1% of them voted in a federal election, that would be 200,000 illegal votes.  Enough to change the outcome of races depending upon where these people reside.  [/quote]
