If you want to  be more finite, it straddles the Chestnut Hill area of Newton and the Brighton area of Boston. It also is adjacent to the Brookline area of Boston.

As far as "borders" go - you can think of this as being a campus that would straddle Western Ave on the DC/MD border. Part in DC, Part in MD...access to metro. But there are Sub neighborhoods there called Chevy Chase, Friendship Heights, Bethesda etc.

BC's campus has 3 contiguous areas:
In Newton:
Upper (mostly freshman dorms) 
Middle (academic buildings, libraries, some dining, etc.)

In Boston - and access to Chestnut Hill T stop on Green Line:
Lower (dorms/dining for sophomores-seniors, football, baseball, hockey, basketball stadiums, athletic complex, garage, student center with some department offices)

There is also a Newton Campus further out with some freshman dorms and the law school.  And another campus in Brighton that the Archdiocese of Boston sold to BC.
