There is nothing wrong with the Ten Commandments. All good morals.
yes. There is. I don't want my kids to be shamed into behavior based on a stupid book written a couple thousand years ago by a bunch of drunk guys.
Which specific commandments do you think people shouldn’t be “shamed” for? The Ten Commandments are a set of religious and ethical directives that God gave to Moses, according to the Bible. Scholars disagree about when the Ten Commandments were written and by whom, so apparently you know more than they do because you know “a bunch of drunk guys” wrote them. Do you have a cite for that? Please share. We can debate the ethical value of the commandments all day, but our country was actually founded on religious freedom. Separation of church and state is a founding principle. Religious indoctrination in school is wrong. What if it were Muslims making the hijab a dress code requirement. Do you have a problem with modesty? Or is the bigger issue not having someone else's religious beliefs shoved down your throat?
No one is forcing anyone in America to believe in the Bible, God, or the 10 commandments. People are free to believe or not believe whatever they want.
Posting the 10 commandments in a public school classroom undermines that freedom.
