I am the OP.  The question is relevant now because if he can say NU is his first choice he will ED it.  But he has to 100% want to go there because[b] ED ups his chances of admission to 20% [/b]and he is legacy, so with his stats and his school's Naviance stats and ED and legacy he will have a very solid change of getting in.  If he thinks he wants Georgetown, he won't ED NU.  If he doesn't ED NU, he will be in the RD pool where admission chances fall to around 6%, legacy is mooted, and he likely won't get in.  But, he will be shooting for G'town under that scenario.  That is why I am asking now.  He needs to decide before he applies so he can apply correctly.  [/quote]

This is not accurate. The reason ED admission rates are higher is because of athletes and other priority applicants the schools want. Unless you are a 6-7 figure donor, legacy really doesn't matter.[/quote]
