How are these dogs being allowed to fly over? When I moved overseas for work and wanted to bring my (completely healthy, up to date shots) dog, it was almost impossible. But we're letting random dogs just fly over?[/quote]

Dogs have been considered our companions for thousands of years.  Dogs are literally tortured to death and you call it a "purposeful death?'

Eating dogs is inhumane.  Did you watch the video?  We could improve our treatment of other animals.  How is blow torching or shocking a dog going to help a cow and pig.  Both are wrong!  You don't solve one problem by creating another

There are enough dogs being euthanized in the US that this is not ok.  If you care about animals you'd be a vegetarian and feed your dogs and animals a vegetarian diet.  It's silly to argue value in one animal over another.

This seems completely shady.  They have people checking in the dogs as their own and handing them over to the rescues to resell.

First of all, dogs need to eat meat to be healthy.  My dog is not going to be vegetarian.

Second, you seem to think dog meat and other meat ( chicken, cow, etc) are all the same.  They are not.  Dog meat is quite unhealthy for human consumption. Third you can help dogs in this country AND also around the world.  It's like sending money after an Earthquake in California and Italy.  We send help to those we can.   To me eating dogs who have been our companions is unethical and inhumane.  I do wish we killed cows, pigs etc more humanely.

I am an advocate for not eating dogs and cats.  Not meat in general.  So no I will not stop eating animals that have been consumed for thousands of years.  And neither will my dog.

Yes!  Call me a hypocrite!  I value the life of a dog over that of a chicken.  I proudly wear my hyporite badge.

We are all hypocrites in that we judge each other all the time!  We tell other countries not to circumsize their girls or you should educate them.  Isn't that telling someone else's culture what to do?  So you are one too unless you don't believe that we should educate girls in Afganistan or Iran.  Or that girl circumsion is a 'cultural choice'

South Korea just banned the dog meat trade.  Young people do not eat dog.  So if that is their culture now why are you forcing them to go back to their old ways?

In the wild animals eat other animals.  If lions and such didn't we would have an overpopulation of prey animals.  How would that affect the environment?  Are you going to stop a lion from eating a deer?  How would you do so?  I believe in eating chickens.  Isn't it my right to feed mysel and my dog chickens?  Aren't you the hypocrite too for taking away my culture?

Frog legs are quite common to eat, and I think cicadas were on some DC menus during the X spawning. Apparently, they are high protein. My dad grew up very rural America. His grandmother cooked squirrel. I don't see any difference in eating dog if you already eat cow, pork, chicken, lamb, etc. It's just another meat. I do have an issue with endangered animals on the menu. [/quote]
