It is interesting.

We are here in the midwest this week for admitted student days at both schools, with a family visit over spring break in the middle.

The response around here is "Oh, wow.  Northwestern!  Congratulations!"

Agree with this take. Don’t get me wrong, [b]Michigan is a fantastic school, but for some reason it seems to get a huge amount of hype on DCUM[/b]. Northwestern comparatively seems a bit underrated on DCUM.[/quote]

Because, as a PP noted, UM is literally top 10 in every major it offers. It has across the board excellence in every discipline.[/quote]

It gets more hype because it does so many things well and has a very enthusiastic, large alumni base that’s spread all over the country and world. [/quote]
