You aren't getting balanced competition for sure either way with just one or two divisions. That's why SFL emphasized keeping the games a reasonable distance. At least that can be controlled.

A lot of coaches have multiple rec teams that they coach. You can't coach two NVSC rec games and also a game in Fredericksburg or DC all in the same day. A travel coach can have NCSL work out his schedule so his games don't conflict but a rec coach doesn't have the same luxury if his other teams are internal house teams. Another reason to keep the games close by.[/quote]
