I dont think it's malicious. I think it's a lack of ability to think outside the box. They truly believe there's no other choice.

Conservatives resist change and liberals don't think change is really possible. So they try to make small improvement to fundamentally shitty systems, instead of looking for solutions that aren't built on shit.
