Petite is about height, not weight. [/quote] The proportion that is actually important for petite, is torso length, not height. Those are the difficult adjustments, hems are easy. A key to fit is underarms hitting at the correct level, waist placement, and rise in pants. A short woman with a long torso should buy regular clothes and have them hemmed. A short woman with a short torso should by petite clothes, and should find the hems pretty close to correct. Who knows if anthropologists care about these distinctions, but there is a physical difference that could be observed.[/quote]
