I would say yes. My kids are busy doing homework during the week. They wouldn’t be allowed to socialize during the week. Weekends - it would depend on our family plans but usually yes at some point depending on with whom. [/quote]

WTF?  Your kids can't go to dinner after practice with some of their teammates on a Thursday night?  We aren't talking going out until 2am on a weeknight here.

This is a weirdly hostile response.  My kid is “allowed” to do these types of things if he wants.   Typically he has too much going on to do mid week hangouts and it isn’t something that they seem to do in his friend group.  Consider that different kids have different needs for social interaction and that there may be hyper local norms of how kids meet their social needs.  [/quote]
