worth it: housecleaner a car detailer that comes to you (just a few times per year) Kerrygold butter and good non-shelf stable bread everything associated with the bed- quality mattress, sheets, duvet, pillow Wolf range not worth it: manicures, particularly "high end" ones "status" credit cards like Amex platinum luxury brand handbags
You aren’t using it correctly then!
how do you use correctly? I use an amazon visa because we buy so much from amazon but i keep hearing that as people who travel A LOT we should have something else. can it really give me that much more $$?
In the last year, it’s paid for my clear membership. It gives us $15 in Uber credits a month. Luggage credit on an airline. Use of lounges/free food. Plus travel points we’ve used for flights and hotels. I balked at the high fee but it’s worth it to us.
I'm the person who originally said the platinum isn't worth it. Not to derail, and I'm sure it is worth it to some folks, but for us.... Yes it paid for my clear and my Uber credits, lounges and some fees. Even assuming that really gets me to "break even" on the membership fee, the points value is trash compared to other points cards, and even cash back. And it is so much efforts to strategize and work the system to maximize the points. Some people find that fun, and that is fine. But for me, no. I can see it making sense if you are flying at least monthly, and internationally at least twice a year. That isn't me.
