Fossil fuel is one of the most profitable global industries on the planet, to the tune of $4.6 trillion dollars in aggregate worldwide.  And, it's entirely dependent on being able to continue to pollute and warm the earth.

Science, on the other hand, is not at all dependent on whether the earth is warming or cooling and there is not even remotely that kind of money in it.
