The UN released global survey results last year that found 9 out of 10 humans are biased against women. Do the math.
People worried about white people and the patriarchy need to take a long hard look at places like Africa. Now that's patriarchy! Utterly and complete patriarchy, far more than anything seen in the Western world in hundreds of years. Nothing like the deeply entrenched, tribal, culturally dogmatic patriarchy across most of Africa can be found anywhere else in the world. But then look across the Middle East and into Asia for extensive if a bit more mild patriarchy than the African tribes. The clueless purple haired western woke progressive with her bumper stickers really crack me up. She has no idea how good she has it. But then again, progress left = badly educated, highly partisan, biased, prejudiced and with a peculiar form of bigotry based in a weird combination of deep unhappiness and hatred for everything else. What do you expect?
My hair isn't purple, it's too grey to hold the color or otherwise I would dye it purple. And yes, I'm a progressive feminist. But I absolutely DO know how good I've got it having been born in the USA on the cusp of the ERA movement, and that the sickening displays of misogyny that I have observed and been injured by over the course of my lifetime are still nothing compared to the subjugation of women occurring on most of the planet. I know that as I complain about sexism in academia and on the job, about male entitlement in intimate relationships and the domestic sphere etc. I should just be grateful I'm not getting my clit sliced off by a rusty razor, or being buried in the ground to should level and being stoned to death by the village because my husband no longer wants me and has falsely accused me of adultery, or being burned alive by a mob including my former fiance's family because my parents couldn't afford the dowry price they once agreed to pay, or being murdered by my own father or brother or uncle because I dared to fall in love with someone other than the aged cousin I was promised to at birth, or being gang raped and murdered by rampaging terrorists because I am just an object meant to serve the rage of men. Yeah, patriarchy is alive and well - sorry to the poster who claims it is in its last gasps, you are very wrong indeed. Woman is the n word of the world. - John Lennon
