[/quote] But there are tons of people on this forum talking about how they don't want to pay full sticker price for college. They are looking for merit aid etc It's not crazy for a family to think yes Columbia is worth the $$$ and a much lower ranked school that costs the same is not worth it. I'm a PP whose parent paid for an Ivy but they wouldn't have paid for just any school when I had an affordable in-state option as an alternative. This is super common and not narcissistic.
