Yes but why? It’s literally been like this since at least 1989 (based on my personal experience). I’ve lived all over the country and been involved in lacrosse as a volunteer or player for every decade in inner-city programs, west coast backwaters, and private school powerhouses since then and men’s lacrosse has never changed.

I don’t get how its culture is perpetuated across time, geography and income.

Back to volleyball: other girl’s sports are meaner and the players are not playing a “finesse sport” or “hardly breaking a sweat”. Go to a Big 10 game at Maryland before the season ends- it is so intense and fun to watch. And college teams have a great mix of body types and personalities.  [/quote]

Lacrosse is a brutal sport. Even more so than football IMO. They literally run around beating on each other with sticks nonstop. The bruises my nephew has on his arms are unbelievable.

My kid runs cross country. They do tend to be the chill kids, at her school anyway.[/quote]
