My theory is OP is writing a mystery and wanted to tee up the premise to see what ideas it might generate here. I’m convinced that all the juiciest posts on this forum are just writers trolling us for material.
Pp here. I mean really - your husband goes missing and before you call the cops you post for advice on DCUM? No.
She said she called police stations in her OP. It’s not a missing person until 24 hours for an adult. So she is probably dealing with police now. DCUM Makes sense. It’s a responsive community, posting on real social media kind of airs your dirty laundry which she may not be ready to do yet, yet she feels very alone and unsure what to do. I might do it. Then someone will say “check the whole house even the attic” — maybe he hit is head and is unconscious in the attic because he wanted to get something out of storage? He Uber home and is passed out on bushes because he lost his keys.
The 24 hour thing is a myth.
Yeah the police will ignore you for way longer than 24 hours
True. Sadly I knew someone who committed suicide at home (lived alone). Police completely ignored her friend who was worried, and even when her family got involved, it was 5 days before they agreed to get her super to unlock the door.
