But again it doesn’t matter if I fail the test and whether the test is an easy one. What matters is that the Democratic Party lost my vote. I’m part of a trend. Democrats will have to contend with this trend either by finding new voters to replace us, or by trying to understand where we are coming from. [/quote]

The difference is Rs are actively trying to reduce women’s rights all over the country, including VA. A VA GOP state senator introduced a full ban earlier this year.

Because they didn't have the votes. Probably many of them assumed that RvW was "settled law" so they didn't think it was worth the political heft.

We are in a different place now. But they will still need to get the 60 votes in the Senate which will be tough.
