Maybe it's different if you have money and are a star but I doubt it.  Unless either of them already have someone in hand, it will not make them happier to separate.  I've seen so many in my family do it.  They may think they were happier but on their dying day they realized it would have been a better road and helped them both to have been together.  Relationships change.

But I also I guess never understood why people part after even 10-15 years or why you have kids with 2-3 different people.  You really need to suck it up sometimes and be with the one you chose unless there was something really wrong with the relationship like abuse, cheating, etc I mean situations change their our life.  It's sad commitments are broken so easily these days.  And I speak as someone 44 not 60. [/quote]
