OP is either a troll or one of those that aspires to look European. Probably dresses her husband in skinny jeans, fancy white shoes, Ray Bans, and a murse in place of a more comfortable and functional backpack.
My European family carry’s a small backpack when traveling. Cargo pants are horrific. I think OP must be from 1995.
+1, my DH is French and carries a backpack. All our kids carry backpacks when we travel in Europe. Half the people on the trains have backpacks. A French professional on their way to work in Paris is probably less likely than a similarly situated American to use a backpack as their work bag (though it wouldn't be unheard of), but the idea that Europeans don't use backpacks when they travel is silly. Scandinavians and Germans, in particular, really backpacks and a lot of the best backpack brands are Scandi. None of our European family or friends would agree with OP. She sounds nuts!
