My family did and reacted way differently than Biden.   Kids became first, last and only priority.   Later on, my dad was still able to have a massively important career in his field notwithstanding.  When I first met Hunter 20 or so years ago I just felt sorry for him.  Never met his older brother but I don’t think their father’s path was the best one for them.  [/quote]

Bully for you. My mother died when I was four and my father put me in a boarding school when I was five.  He would have when I was four but they wouldn't accept me so he hired a live in nurse/nanny.  He was military and went back to his overseas post.
