I've been married for 35 years. I gave up my career to raise our children, who are now grown. I've been looking for a job, but can't find one. No one wants to hire an older woman who has no job and has not worked for 35 years. I got some training at my local CC, but it made no difference. I'm unemployable. I doubt I'd get hired at Starbucks (no barista experience!). If my husband and I divorced, I would starve if I didn't receive permanent alimony. For younger women who didn't give up their careers, it's a completely different situation.
You can work as a CNA, house cleaning, Costco door checker, etc. Even hotels may have front desk positions.
Costco door checkers make tons of money! You will definitely not lose your house if you get that job. See, it's so simple! Or work the front desk at a hotel and then you're all set. CNAs are positively rolling in it and that's a great job for someone in their 50s or 60s.
CNAs are not rolling in it. It’s a physical job that is very hard, and the pay they receive is the lowest in the healthcare field. A 60 year old woman cannot be a CNA.
