A strong cohort of students that's been educated in DC schools leaves the system and these new buildings and programs alone aren't enough. The schools won't continue to improve if they are abandoned.[/quote] Sure students leave but I would argue it’s easy to support or supplement the gaps in the early years, and there are a lot of gaps. It is much more difficult to support as things gets more complex in middle school and up Plus more subjects are covered than basic math and reading. If you thought math and reading was awful, just look at science and writing in the data, worst than abysmal.[/quote]
