It’s making people even in pre med and social science fields worried about accepting jobs there. It’s hard to completely avoid potentially controversial topics in most fields, and it’s not fun to worry about saying the “wrong” thing or giving the “wrong” type of assignment. Academic freedom has always been a really important part of the job. Why risk it if you’re a strong candidate with other options elsewhere? [/quote]
