I wouldn’t travel with someone who doesn’t help even if they paid for themself. Sorry but if you’re an unhelpful sibling or grandparent, we’ll see you when the kids are 10+. [/quote]

I agree with this. If you are traveling WITH my family but unwilling to even hang out with my kids while I take a shower, or get my kid a water if they ask, then it is honestly more trouble to travel with you than it’s worth.

If a parent or sibling wants to travel with us, I assume it is in large part to spend time with the kids, which will mean helping because we don’t travel with staff.[/quote]

Idk- when we take family vacations with dh’s family, his sister without kids complains incessantly about “noise in the morning” (ie until she wakes up at noon) and having to go out for early dinners a couple of the nights we’re they’re so they can join. They definitely don’t travel to spend time with the kids apart from a curated Instagram picture. I don’t necessarily fault them for that, but yeah- they are not coming for the kids. [/quote]
