Not a humblebrag. She notes that she decided to stop drinking after she found out, given it just made her sadder. When I decided to give up my daily 1-3 glasses of wine, I dropped 19 pounds the first month. Went from 154 to 135 (I’m 5’5” and 57) and then a few more pounds over the next few weeks. I discovered my own husband’s three affairs stretching back seven years 95 days into sobriety and while I lost a few more pounds (and I could not keep food down, or - ah - in). Could be the alcohol reduction contributed vastly to the weight loss. In my case I’m so glad I had stopped drinking three months before I found out. I was in a much better place emotionally as I wasn’t using alcohol to mask depression, and my antidepressant finally had a chance to work effectively. And my mind was much sharper and ready to take on this massive issue and nuclear meltdown of my marriage.

I’m one of those posters.  Nope.  I wasn’t a drinker.  My was adrenaline, anxiety, stress inability to sleep or eat.  My metabolism speeds up like crazy under very stressful times.  In 2 weeks of affair discovery I couldn’t fit into my size 2-4 clothes they were hanging off of me.

I also became skeletal when my dad was battling terminal cancer.
