OMG, relatedly: This morning my DH, who was taking DC to school, kept walking back and forth through the house, clearly looking for something. He opened the front door like three times. I said "are you looking for something?" He said "yes, my sandals." I said "they are next to your side of the bed -- I saw them there when I was vacuuming yesterday." He goes to look. He comes back -- he can't find them. I go to look. They are sitting right where I said they would be.

What is wrong with men??? My kid does this too and when she does it, I know it's because she's not really looking. She's just not focusing on anything, and when I say "it's on your desk" or "it's on the hook by the door," she'll go to look but not really look because she wants me to find it. And when my DH does it, it feels pretty much the same, which is enraging.[/quote]

I always say “What do I win if I get up and it’s exactly where I said it was?” and that usually encourages them to check one more time. Because they know I’m going to rub it in![/quote]
