It’s not “news” and isn’t a troll. It’s ok for a parent to enter an anonymous forum to express frustration. I do want to know if this is a white male. I worry about increasing racism as a result of this shift in the game. You assume you are too ranked based on measurements that, some argue, put some at a disadvantage. Schools try to create a student population that more adequately represents the world on a global scale, not just a historically white male dominated educational institution.
Meh my nephew is a white male who got in to VT with good but lower stats than OP. VT def rejects high stat kids who they think won’t go to VT.
Then they should apply ED instead of playing the “let’s see how many acceptances I can get” game. DP
It’s more: 1. Some can’t commit ED without knowing a financial package first 2. Some apply eD and don’t get in. 3. Some aren’t certain what school they want above all others. 4. It’s so hard now, some don’t want to waste an Ed only to possibly get rejected. Look outside your bubble.
Not at all interested in the usual excuses. It’s been stated repeatedly: if you apply ED but the school doesn’t meet your financial need, you can decline so as to compare other schools/financial aid packages. If they are rejected in ED, then apply EDII or EA elsewhere. And if your kid can’t decide on one top-choice school but instead wants to play the field, that’s on them (and you). Schools don’t owe *anyone* an acceptance, period. Especially if it’s clear they are not your first choice. Blah blah blah, “it’s so hard now.” It’s hard for everyone, not just your snowflakes.
