I am the PP who knew him. I can definitely see how it looks like there is “more” here, based on his recent move and divorce (which happened years ago and was amicable). But I don’t think there is. I think he was out with friends, either couldn’t find an Uber or felt safe to walk, and was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Quite possible he had been drinking and didn’t have his wits about him. I so hope the SF police can provide answers. [/quote]

All of those speculations on there being “more to the story” are looking to placate their own fears. It could happen to any of us walking down a city street — but if we can “blame” some other factor “out way late” or “crypto mom hit” or “midlife crisis dalliance with a drug dealer” etc, it’s makes them feel like it won’t happen to them.
