This story was buried at the bottom of the home page most of the day. And they won't identify the shooter. What is up with that?
Agree. Why hasn’t shooter been identified? I’m guessing either homeless or a catch-and-release.
Isaiah Trotman, 31, of Washington, DC, was identified by investigators as the gunman, and was arrested on charges of first degree murder while armed, kidnapping while armed and assault with a dangerous weapon, police said https://www.cnn.com/2023/02/02/us/dc-metro-employee-killed-stop-gunman-shooting/index.html
I don't see a record on DC Sup Ct but those do not seem like the actions of a 1st time offender. Did he recently arrive in DC from elsewhere like the guy who bashed a baby in the face with a brick on Capitol Hill?
There’s a Washington Post article about him. Apparently, he was pretty amazing. Sounds like some sort of mental health crisis. He was a competitive swimmer in HS. Got a scholarship to Auburn U and graduated with a degree in finance. Served in the Air National Guard. Moved to DC. Bought a half million dollar house. Had two cars and an IT job. Paid his taxes. Something happened after Christmas. Inside of his house went from well kept to graffitied. No car. No phone. Disheveled. Then this. He was arrested twice, one dropped and one resulting in a plea of guilty of possession with intent to sell methamphetamine. Some domestic issues with a girlfriend, which seem to have gone both ways - him to her and her to him. Unlike much of the speculation, seems like he was a really successful guy before serious mental illness set in.
