There are so many MD drivers in my area of NOVA every day and they are reckless and dangerous, including in neighborhoods.
Same in my maryland town - so many Va drivers cut through here to get to DC. They tail gate, blow stop signs, speed in residential area, don’t stop at pedestrian crossings, honk unnecessarily, and don’t let others merge in when they can. People Driving from one state to another probably have long commutes and behave worse is states where they they think people don’t recognize them.
You’re brilliant. I’m positive it is the answer, because every time my husband gets cut off, it’s a Maryland driver. I don’t keep score.
I was convinced this must be the case, that the crazy MD drivers I see in VA just spend a massive amount of time driving and therefore have little patience for traffic. I also assumed they didn't understand that VA police mean business when it comes to speed limits. Then I had to spend a chunk of time in Waldorf yesterday, driving back and forth across the river twice, and that blew that theory out of the water. The thing is though, compared to seeing them alone in VA, it was actually a little easier to take when it was an entire state of them all driving consistently. Consistently fast and aggressive, but there were no surprises. I knew exactly what they were going to do which made it less stressful in a way. In the defense of all of the people complaining about VA drivers, I saw just a handful of VA plates all day but two cars who were going twice as slow as everyone else and were tootling along in the left lane, oblivious to the speed of traffic, both had VA plates. (note-I stayed to the right, at one point happily driving behind a huge tanker truck who was only doing 10 mph over the limit because I knew no one was going to cut in front of me with him there.)
