Good for him. Why on earth would any of you want China buying up our farmland and running a potential national security risk through our state? There are plenty of other businesses he can attract that don't have ties to China. It's bizarre that you don't seem to understand that.
Like which businesses?
I guess your google's not working? https://www.bdtonline.com/news/youngkin-company-investing-13-5-million-to-open-resin-and-vinyl-manufacturing-plant-in-bluefield/article_036a71bc-5b83-11ed-af9c-435d3da92bb0.html https://www.virginiabusiness.com/article/boeing-plans-global-hq-move-to-arlington/#:~:text=In%202017%2C%20Boeing%20announced%20it%20would%20move%20its,headquarter%20in%20Virginia%2C%E2%80%9D%20Youngkin%20said%20in%20a%20statement. https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/smallbusiness/gov-youngkin-highlights-new-advancement-center-in-danville-hopes-to-attract-jobs-to-va/ar-AA12D2ok https://www.yahoo.com/now/enabled-intelligence-inc-expands-headquarters-134100112.html https://www.technomics.net/Technomics-Announces-Expansion-22 https://www.governor.virginia.gov/newsroom/news-releases/2022/august/name-938812-en.html https://www.governor.virginia.gov/newsroom/news-releases/2023/january/name-978360-en.html#:~:text=RICHMOND%2C%20VA%20%E2%80%93%20Governor%20Glenn%20Youngkin%20today%20announced,million%20to%20establish%20an%20operation%20in%20Albemarle%20County.
So you’re saying Virginia will have plenty of jobs and Youngkin was wrong when he predicted an economic downturn?
Youngkin hasn't said anything that others aren't saying as well. Of course there's going to be an economic downturn. But he's doing his best to keep Virginians employed. It clearly pains you that Youngkin is doing a good job. Youngkin said the state added thousands of jobs last year and is “somewhat cushioned” in downturns by its employment mix, which includes government jobs and the defense industry. He said the state plans to invest through any downturn, which could be more mild than expected because of a moderate rise in unemployment. “The countervailing influence here is jobs,” the governor said. “We have never had a pending recession like this where we haven’t seen a massive dislocation in the employment market.” https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-01-10/virginia-governor-youngkin-sees-rising-chance-of-recession#:~:text=Virginia%20Governor%20Glenn%20Youngkin%20said%20he%20is%20planning,in%20an%20interview%20with%20Bloomberg%20New%E2%80%99s%20Washington%20Bureau.
