I am 53 and have lost 21 lbs since March (173 to 152) through low carb, focus on higher protein and stepped up exercise. I was already very active with weights at gym, run, biking, pickleball. I’m surprised at how much weight I’ve lost on a short 4.5 months by implementing more diet and exercise discipline. I guess I didn’t know I was overweight? By 21 lbs? Feeling much healthier and running faster by dropping lbs. why didn’t I do this sooner?
Has anyone yet suggested that OP go to the doctor and check her white blood cell count? That much weight loss with so little change sounds suspicious. Just to be sure, you should get a med screening for cancer.
Umm, no. First, that is not “so little change” - going lo carb and increasing program is a quite significant and impactful change to diet. There is an an entirely different theory about weight loss (other than calories in/out) which hypothesizes that weight gain is a result of carb consumption changes, and that changinv that is what results in weight loss. Also, Op has increased exercise which helps with weight loss. And, to put the weight loss in perspective, 20 pounds since March is about 4-5 pounds a month - not anything to worry about given the changes and certainly not likely to be caused by cancer. Good grief!
