Always has been. Duh. Messaging should’ve been better from the start, even if the primary message was “we just don’t know and we’re doing what we think is best based on the info we have right now.” This administration especially has lost all credibility - just look at the number of people willing to vaccinate their under 5’s after all that ridiculous back and forth - it’s minuscule.

Yeah, the early comments about herd immunity and vaccination were ridiculous. It’s always been clear that Covid would be with us forever. But they wanted to encourage vaccination, so they suggested that Covid would go away if people got vaccinated. All that did was set unrealistic expectations.[/quote]

Pp from above and agree. Also, meant to add that people should be living their lives. Ideally everyone would aim to do so with kindness and sensibility. But I’m not locking my kids inside again nor am I missing out on anymore life experiences in the name of “ending Covid.” The only thing that will end Covid is…Covid. So we’re gonna live as well and as fully as we can. (And no, I’m not suggesting the world is ending tomorrow. Im just being rational based on what’s actually transpired since Covid emerged in 2019.)[/quote]
