A little lesson for you all. The bikini was invented for the male gaze. It is worn for the male gaze. When you have your little girl wearing that you are teaching her that she should dress for the male gaze. The only reason they want it is because they have been culturally conditioned already. Little girls are not laying in the sun working on their tan. They are swimming and playing and should be wearing attire that allows them to do that fully.
So much for girl power! How sad. My girls have no idea that bikinis are made for the men (ridiculous statement). They like bikinis because when they are in and out of the water all day, wearing a wet shirt and shorts is really not comfortable or nice. That’s it. If it were up to me, I would have them naked or at the very least topless (unfortunately not allowed in this country). I am European, but went to college and grad school in the US. The most sexual women (by far) are the Americans. In college it was all about wet t-shirt contests, getting drunk and having threesomes, etc. these were 18-19 year old girls… but of course they would wear conservative bikinis at the beach… You should think about what you put in your daughter’s head when she is so young and has to worry about men’s attention
