Whoever said the PP is a "disgusting, garbage human being" - who are you? this is the equivalent of road rage on an anonymous forum. Would you say these things if we knew who you were? Maybe if we saw you at class? If you were our neighbor? Seriously, what's your problem? As for long covid in children: https://www.cnn.com/2022/05/06/health/children-long-covid-wellness/index.html
Please, PP is trying to shame parents for not isolating their children from society. That's some garbage human being level crap. It feeds into this idea that we need to prioritize the prevention of COVID above everything else, but only for children since we've given up on restrictions for adults, despite them (as admitted in the article you posted) being the most affected. Those of us who have other concerns about our children's health get told to F off, get told it's our fault. Social isolation is horrible for children. Ask me how I know. The article you posted is more conjecture from physicians who by their own admission have no earthly idea how common long COVID is. These doctors may very well be seeing a lot of symptoms brought on by the general stress of the pandemic, which has been significant for children but anyone who brings that up is told they are an unfit parent or that we are denying long COVID. I'm not denying long COVID, I know it exists, I also have enough brain cells to recognize that the physiological impacts of stress on people's health are "real", that doesn't mean I think those children are "mentally ill" which is just another way of saying you don't think mental illness is "real".
