Elementary aged children have completely been caught in political agendas. They are in the middle of it and a basic understanding of that can help them understand. Have you paid attention to the pandemic at all?
Your job as a parent is not to indoctrinate your child with political rhetoric. Completely age-inappropriate.
Explaining why some people are in favor of masks and some are not while the kids see it all around is my job as a parent.
How old are your kids? My kid was in 4th grade when this started. I didn’t have to explain anything because it was extremely obvious to anyone with half a brain what was going on. We have a large group of insane people who claim it was a hoax, the vaccine has microchips, and horse deworming medicine is the solution. Then we have another large group of crazy people who hide in their houses, won’t let their kids go outside and play, and wear a mask while driving in a car with the windows down alone. My kid clearly understood that a large percentage of our population is crazy and they’re at war with each other.
Good for your little genius. Some have questions and would like to talk about what they see around them.
